Kat Von D’s Divine Collection Officially Drops TOMORROW, and the Swatches Are So Good
UPDATE (February 13, 2018 11:30 A.M. EST): Anyone else out there more excited for Valentine’s Day makeup launches than the actual holiday itself? If so, we’re on the same page. After all, how could we not be when Kat Von D’s hotly anticipated Divine collection — a tribute to the iconic drag queen — is finally due to drop tomorrow?
So far we’ve only gotten glimpses here and there of the high-voltage collab, which comes with a swoon-worthy, seven-pan eye shadow palette and a new Studded Kiss Lipstick encased in lime green packaging. But now? Now we’re coming at you with actual swatches so you can see what the hyper-pigmentated shades look like in the flesh, which I’ll tell you now, will only make you want to have the collection in your hands more. The lipstick, a nude-peach hue, is perfect for every day wear or a night out with a bold eye — which is where the shadow palette comes in. With colors like shimmering royal-blue, lime green, stark white, and aqua, there’s basically no way you can’t create a badass look with it.
Check out the swatches for yourself, below seen in an Instagram post from beauty account Trendmood1 and on Divine’s own Instagram, and then go set those calendar reminders because it’s all coming tomorrow, February 14. Happy Valentine’s day, beauties.
UPDATE (January 24, 2018 1:30 P.M. EST): Though we’re still in the midst of winter — and a brutal one at that — spring is inching closer, which means fresh flowers, longer days, and, oh yeah, newness from everyone’s favorite makeup mogul: Kat Von D. As you might already know, Von D has been teasing her upcoming Divine collection, which is a tribute to the legendary drag queen, Divine, for roughly three months now. So, naturally, we’ve all been dying to know when we can officially get our hands on it.
Luckily, the day is finally here, and it turns out the collection is coming sooner than we expected. The brand took to its Instagram on January 23, to announce when the line would launch online, as well as when it would be available around the world. Come February 14, the Divine collection, which includes its Studded Kiss Lipstick in lime-green packaging and a seven-pan eye shadow palette, will drop online — and that’s online only — at katvondbeauty.com. (Now that is a reason to look forward to Valentine’s Day).
Approximately two weeks later, on February 23, the collection will hit shelves in the U.S. and Canada. Unfortunately, the rest of the world will have to wait until later in the year to snag the hotly anticipated line, as it launches in Spain, France, Italy, and Scandinavia on May 18; Ireland and the U.K. on March 7; Mexico on February 18; and Australia, Thailand, Singapore, and Malaysia on March 1.
No word yet on whether the collection will be available in Sephora stores, so as of now, I would bank on buying it either online. Needless to say, get those wallets ready for one divine (sorry, I had to) collection.
When a mega beauty mogul like Kat Von D honors one of her biggest muses with their very own palette, we listen up. And when she reveals a sneak peek of said muse-inspired palette on Instagram, we’re ready our wallets. Von D is not known for subtlety — her best creations are bold, loud, and straight up game-changing. In addition to simply being badass makeup, all of her products are cruelty-free — icing on the vegan cake.
With what feels like a constant stream of cult-worthy launches (matte liquid liner, super limited edition shades of her already attention-grabbing liquid lipstick) it’s hard to pick which one to get most excited about. The new palette she just teased on Instagram is definitely a contender.
Inspired by actor, recording star, and international drag icon Divine, the Divine Palette is coming in February to rock your world. According to a post on Instagram where we get a good look at the forthcoming palette, Divine is one of Von D’s biggest muses, so you know this one is going to be good.
The seven-shade palette is as bold as you’d expect, given it’s fairy godmother. There’s Babs, a subtle shimmery champagne; Hard Magic, an enchanting deep charcoal; Baltimore, a sparkly cobalt; Filthy, a glam glimmery shade of black; Pink Flamingos, a shocking hue of acid green; Female Trouble, an icy matte white; and Hairspray, a serious showstopper made with high-octane silver glitter.
Phew! That’s a lot of attention-grabbing power in one palette. To top it all off, it looks like there will also be an accompanying lipstick with the launch. Though the deep dusty rose shade looks pretty demure, the acid green tube is a definite attention getter.
Is it spring yet?
